Chapter The Bridge
by Ariadne Gallardo Figueroa
The words of Dean Pérez Riv resounded in Sofía’s mind when she exclaimed:
<“As long as Algol shines brightly, the battle is ours”>
She recognized to her as an encouraging being and with that courage that gives the security that the years give and the challenges put in place when it had been necessary to do so; A small woman with straight hair and features endemic to the culture of the State of Guerrero, she had grown up in a small town near the port of Acapulco.
Sofía sighed and all the festive spirit that had accompanied her a few moments before, suddenly disappeared, she knew that dark passages awaited her in which she would put, together with the group, all the power of her energy in a blind fight.
She went to her bedroom, and chose a fist of her runes, held them apprehensively in her hands, and threw them away with the expectant gaze of someone waiting for news to illuminate her path.
Indeed, Perthu, Lögr, and Kaun, gave an account of their messages with force and intensity:
Sofia observed that the rune that speaks of the stone, Perthu; showed her how far it was possible for her vision to penetrate that misty darkness; the rune on the rock definitely signaled a clear allusion to the meteorites looming over the world. The representation of the mineral world, and the entrance to the most hidden mysteries.
The second message, the water rune Lögr, explains feelings, intuition, and emotions; with it, the question arose, what are they talking about, what do they show us?
She understood clearly that there were all those who connected to unify a single feeling and cause an energy source that would provide them with security.
Finally, she found in Kaun the rune of the torch, the illumination by the gap of light through which they should walk in that interaction between two powers.
Only then did she take a deep breath, she realized that the opportunity was in the unity that each of the guests at the ritual achieved. Balance and triumph depended on all of them together in that great tragedy they would face.
Sitting on her bed, she covers her face with her hands and with pain exclaimed:
<How great is the suffering we will face!>
