Tláloc the giver of storms

Dark forces were in front of the known world, but no one was able to know.

“The sky will be marked with the sign of a symbol that you will not understand until it is too late, sharpen your senses because all the men who will arrive by sea will hold it as a value of great importance to them”

The Messenger

By Ariadne Gallardo Figueroa

The moment waited for by Erandi was approaching, she carefully placed the clay pot with the blood of the adolescent, who had been sacrificed in the festivities of the New Fire, and began her ritual to receive the strength of a deity called Tláloc whose power sustained life, and crops; In this way, she placed herself in the middle of the clay pot, raised her arms and pointed to the sky:

“Lord of all storms, who feeds and strengthens the fruits of the earth, governs the course of the rivers and knows the mystery of the clouds-covered skies. May my offering be well received in your domains and she responds to my cry and necessity to know what I cannot understand, allow her passage through your translucent skin to be constant until she reaches the places where every abyss holds secrets, may enlighten me with the power of the lightning so that I can understand what is revealed to me with the appropriate and accurate symbol “

In response Tlaloc dropped a thunderous downpour

The sky did not take long to respond to the powerful sorceress and priestess of the Ometeotl temple, the riverbed was stirred by the torrent of rain that shed power of the giver of all storms and a roar marked the sky to Erandi’s surprise.

Erandi can’t understand what is mean this impressive symbol

Recognizing the power of that symbol was not clear to her, but the warning was made, those who will arrive by sea, for better or for worse, will hold the cross as their supreme power, bodies bathed in salt and sand that would mark the blood and the destiny of a people.

Erandi got on her knees on the ground and held the clay pot, her body bathed in the rain that acknowledged her effort  when she shed her blood, she exclaimed:

“Tonacayototl, lord of sustenance, who leans on the strength of Tláloc, and inhabit the heavens, the seas, rivers, and the earth, Dayami represents from now on the Goddess of the river, give her a place in your domain, allowing her blood to flow in any space that is necessary and feed the curiosity of my soul, I must encourage her message with the strength of all of you, with the noise and the wind, with the heat and the fire, and I will wait for the clouds of the distant sea to bring me answers.”

Finally, she watched the blood dissolve in the river, and with force in her voice she shouted aloud under the torrent of rain and lightning:

“Dayami, the seed of your being has been opened, to nourish the future and hope, Dayami: Help me to understand the brand of fire that Tláloc has granted us, may your blood be my senses and your riverbed my understanding. “

The ritual was decreed the moment of new dawn became much more than that, the awakened vision of Erandi was part of a challenge before the advent of the deepest of tragedies that could ever be understood, but voracity is not limited and we all know it.

Dark forces were in front of the known world, but no one was able to know.
