The Code in the Mud

Each story that is woven with a goal, ends up being the route and the slope of a channel that you do not stop when many have decided that it is what it has to be and not what others consider it to be

What is the clay that each human moulds and the stories that he keeps in each of his works, what sensations does it provoke and what stories or secrets do they tell us?

The Messenger

By Ariadne Gallardo Figueroa

Erandi decided to hide part of the secret codes in clay pots, she discovered that it was possible to camouflage them and in this way, the greatest secret of all would be found in the designs of the pots for everyday use that would be repeated over and over again with the pass of the time.

Even without her being there, in case she disappears or simply her time to die will come, each of these designs will transmit to the group of her chosen and all her descendants what should not be forgotten: The fascinating story of Dayami when she began crossing to unknown lands.

The greatest secret of all would be found in the designs of the pots for everyday use that would be repeated over and over again with the pass of the time.

Each design constituted a code jealously guarded by those who later on over the centuries would be considered ascended masters; Erandi’s school was formed from the inheritance of blood and the one that intertwines each of the skilful followers, they knew before anyone else the truth and the motives of some groups of invaders, they had in a certain way the ability to recognize the allies, both from their region and distant populations, people who reached out to them to help them escape when necessary and hide from the eyes of the invaders what only they understand.

It is said that later in history under the stucco figures of the saints, many indigenous people kept the images of their deities but there was something else that did not obey that crude and naive concealment, each fret or circle in the clay vessels of Common use allowed the connoisseur to understand the special message and convey it to the right person.

It was enough to bring atole to someone’s house or pulque in a jug to the festivity of a place and each one of those chosen would recognize the message explicitly and safely; Erandi set up a communications network whose dynamics were very useful.

With no place for contradictions, both common use and ceremonial vessels had this sophisticated method that only the priestess of the Ometeotl temple could have thought of, by harbouring duality, her perspective was unique and special.

Of course, nobody knows for sure, only those who did not limit themselves to seeing the appearance, who secretly made their drawings and texts before them could affirm “Not realizing”, all of them were allowed to go further and with greater firmness of his mystical and constant work in the midst of a world that gave no respite for deception and that was not prepared for those who would show their indignation or their truth head-on.

In some towns over time, they were called “ladinos”, that is, people who acted secretly to get what they wanted or who denied the customs of their indigenous community, when in reality they were people who had not been indoctrinated in the beliefs. that was imposed on them.

It is important to remember that you choose to be who you are and not what others decide or want you to be, in this case, let us remember Erandi´s words that said to her group of followers:

“Our life could be another but we weave the intricate ties of destiny so that was what it had to be ”

Each story that is woven with a goal, ends up being the route and the slope of a channel that you do not stop when many have decided that it is what it has to be and not what others consider it to be.
